Affirm Hires Chief Compliance Officer, Adds Rabois, Liew to Board

Affirm, the payment solutions startup launched in 2012, said it had hired a government lawyer from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — Manuel Alvarez — as its first chief compliance officer and general counsel. Previous to CFPB, he was a top attorney in the consumer law unit of the California Attorney General’s Office. In addition, Affirm said it had added Khosla Venture’s Keith Rabois and Lightspeed Ventures’ Jeremy Liew to its board.
