Good morning! Here’s some of what we’ve been reading up on at Re/code:

  1. Soylent, magical nutrient sludge of the future, has been written about ad nauseum. But up until now few, if any, have actually made the Soylent diet their actual sustenance for any extended period time. The Verge’s Chris Ziegler tried it for a nearly a month, with some surprisingly positive results.
  2. Bloomberg Businessweek’s Michael Riley reports that hackers stole the Nasdaq, and confused and stymied an alphabet soup of government agencies.
  3. One of the hottest buzzphrases in tech right now is “The Internet of Things.” Gizmodo’s Ashley Feinberg explains how Snapchat, Facebook and other social media companies think they can get in on the wave.
  4. The Guardian released a video interview with Edward Snowden, in which he says the NSA is passing around intercepted nude photos and proclaims that he’d be cool if he ended up in Guantanamo.
  5. Weird Al Yankovic, musical comedy artist and one of America’s national treasures, is releasing one new music video online for eight straight days, each on a different site. Yesterday he released a sublime parody of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” called “Handy.” Wired has the link.
