United States stock index futures were higher on Monday morning. But European markets were lower as President Obama and the leaders of the Group of 7 nations prepared to meet in The Hague over the situation in Crimea. London stocks were down 0.5 percent, while German stocks were off 0.7 percent. Also weighing on markets was a preliminary Chinese purchasing managersâ index from HSBC for March that was weaker than expected.
