George Soros is ready to take up married life yet again.
Mr. Soros and his younger girlfriend, Tamiko Bolton, announced their engagement on Saturday night at his summer home in Southampton, N.Y., before a small group of friends that included his lawyer, Bill Zabel, and the Blackstone Groupâs Byron Wien.
It will be the third trip down the aisle for Mr. Soros, 82, who has five children from his two previous marriages. One of the world's most famous hedge fund managers, who cemented his reputation with a trade that broke the Bank of England, he has become known primarily for his public pronouncements and charitable donations to liberal causes.
It will be the second marriage for Ms. Bolton, 40, a consultant in the health care and education fields. The daughter of a nurse and a retired naval officer, Ms. Bolton attended the University of Utah and earned a masters in business administration from the University of Miami.
Among her professional accomplish ments, she founded a vitamin sales company and an online yoga education company.
The couple first met in the spring of 2008, maintaining a relatively low-key relationship - their first public appearance was in May, according to Page Six. Mr. Soros proposed recently in the garden of his Southampton home.
In the meantime, Mr. Soros has been fending off legal accusations from a former girlfriend, Adriana Ferreyr, who has accused him of reneging on two separate promises to buy her an apartment. She has sued him in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan, seeking $50 million for emotional distress.
For those interested in the hardware that the hedge fund magnate presented Ms. Bolton, the engagement ring was a brilliant-cut diamond from Graff, set in platinum on a rose gold band with pink pave diamonds.
